What is PrestoSell?

PrestoSell is a secure online order form and order management system.  PrestoSell allows you to easily setup and maintain a secure online order form without any programming knowledge.  You simply link your hosted PrestoSell order form to your web site or e-mail campaign to sell your goods and/or services over the web.  PrestoSell's order management system securely captures and stores your customers' order information for you.  Back to top.

How does PrestoSell differ from a traditional shopping cart system?

The biggest difference is the ease-of-use for both you and your customers.  Unlike shopping cart systems, PrestoSell uses a traditional order form approach in capturing your orders. Is hosting included with the monthly fee?

How many items can I include on one order form?

Technically, you can offer as many items on a single order form as you wish.  However, PrestoSell isn't designed to offer dozens of items from a single order form as it becomes awkward for your customers to use.

If you have dozens of products for sale, you might be better suited using our "PrestoStore" service.  PrestoStore allows you to setup and maintain an online catalog of your products for sale.  You can list and categorize an unlimited number of products online using PrestoStore.

PrestoStore provides you with a full-featured, hosted product catalog:

  • Complete store hosting included (multiple images, descriptions, etc.)

Can I change my order form and item listings?

Yes - and we encourage that you do.  Our PrestoSell system allows you to update your order form and item listing information at anytime, as often as you need.  You can change pricing, add or remove items, modify shipping and handling – any element that needs changing.  PrestoSell is designed to evolve as your business does.  Back to top.

Can I create multiple order forms?

Yes.  Once you purchase your initial order form, our system allows you to create as many additional order forms in your account that you need for an additional $5.00 each per month.  Each order form can list different items, can be used for different promotional campaigns or even separate business initiatives.  All the order information from all your order forms is conveniently stored in your single PrestoSell account.  Back to top.

How can I customize the look of my order form?

PrestoSell allows you to customize your order form to match the style of your web site.  In addition to uploading your logo and other images to represent each of your listed items, you can customize the font type and add color to your order form to exactly match the style of your web site.  You can also customize your order "thank you" message and communicate additional ordering information by adding "informational links" that appear at the bottom of each ordering screen.  Back to top.

Creating a "demo order form" is a no-obligation, introduction to our service.  Once you purchase your demo order form, you are given a username, password and full access to our system so you can:

  • Make all the modifications you need to your order form
  • Upload product images, add your logo, change your order form's colors and fonts, etc.
  • Add, update or remove offering listings as often as you need
  • Create advanced pricing and shipping rate schedules

Processing Orders

How does PrestoSell work with my existing web site?

PrestoSell is compatible with any web site.  Once you purchase and activate your demo order form, you are given a single link to it.  Simply place this link on your web site wherever you want your customers to make a purchase.  When your customers click this link at your web site, they are sent to our secure servers for the duration of the ordering process.  Once the ordering process is complete, we send your customers back to your web site.  Back to top.

How do I receive order information?

Each time an order is captured, you and your customers are sent an e-mail confirming the order.  You can login to your account at PrestoSell at anytime to securely and privately retrieve complete order information.  Back to top.

Does PrestoSell store my order information for me?

Yes, once you establish your PrestoSell account, you are given a username and password so you can privately view your order information at anytime and as often as needed.  Your order information is stored in our system for one full year past each order's capture date.  Back to top.

Can PrestoSell capture additional information (such as size, color, etc.) that I need from each of my customers?

PrestoSell allows you to establish any number of "additional information fields" that are posed to your customers based on the items they are about to purchase.  These fields allow you to capture and store the additional information that you need to fulfill each order (examples: "Size", "Color", "How did you hear about us", etc.).

You can establish long or short "fill in the blank" style fields or have your customers select their answer from a "dropdown" style field.

Processing Payments

How do I collect payments from my customers?

You are ultimately responsible for collecting payments from your customers, but PrestoSell supports most options depending on what your business accepts.  PrestoSell can securely capture your customer payment information made by credit/debit cards, mailed checks and/or money orders, electronic checking debits, or PayPal.  If you currently accept credit cards using a credit card merchant account, PrestoSell can be used with your existing merchant account at no additional fee.

I want to accept credit cards online, what do I need to do?

A "credit card merchant account" is required to process payments made by credit/debit card.  You can choose to apply for a new credit card merchant account through PrestoSell when you purchase our service.  By obtaining your merchant account through PrestoSell, we do all the technical work of integrating your new merchant account to PrestoSell.  This way, your customers' credit/debit cards are automatically charged in real-time, online.

I already have a credit card merchant account, can I use it with PrestoSell?

Yes.  PrestoSell can capture and store your customers' credit card information securely so you can bill your customers' credit cards offline using your existing merchant account's terminal.  Back to top.

How can I integrate my existing credit card merchant account to PrestoSell for real-time, online transactions?

You can use any merchant account with PrestoSell in "offline mode" (see above), however if you want transactions to be automatically sent to your merchant account by PrestoSell in real-time, an "Internet payment gateway" must be installed on your existing merchant account.  PrestoSell supports several of the major Internet payment gateways at no additional fee.

If your existing merchant account does not have a supported Internet payment gateway installed, you have three options:

  1. Use your existing merchant account with PrestoSell in "offline mode" (see above).

  2. Contact your merchant account provider and have them add one of the supported payment gateways.

Can a volume pricing schedule be setup for large orders made by my customers?

Yes, you can setup a separate "volume pricing schedule" for each item you sell.  This way, you can charge less per item if your customer orders a larger quantity.  Back to top.

Yes, PrestoSell allows you to setup sales tax for any number of "deliver-to" states that you need.  Back to top.

Can shipping and handling fees be added to each order?

Yes, PrestoSell allows you to setup shipping and handling fees by product ordered, quantity ordered, by order dollar total, by order total weight and/or by custom delivery method.  In addition, PrestoSell can be configured to calculate precise UPS and USPS shipping rates.  Back to top.

How does PrestoSell calculate precise shipping fees for UPS and/or USPS?

PrestoSell can automatically calculate precise UPS or USPS shipping fees based on each order's total weight and shipping destination.  This is done by communicating with the UPS and USPS web sites electronically, each time an order is made from your order form.  This ensures the most up-to-date rates will be calculated.  Back to top.

Can I setup multiple "promotion codes" to extend discounts to certain customers?

Yes, PrestoSell allows you to create an unlimited number of "promotion codes" that apply either a percent or flat dollar discount to an order subtotal.  You can communicate these codes to certain customers to extend a discount to them.  Back to top.

How can I customize the look of my order form?

Is PrestoSell secure?

Absolutely. We take Internet security and data privacy very seriously as it is a cornerstone of our business. We can assure you that all information captured and stored on our servers is safe, secure and accessible only by you.

PrestoSell securely captures and stores your customer and order information using the safest Internet technology available: SSL - Secure Socket Layer. The SSL protocol is the web standard for encrypting communications between users and web sites. Data sent via a SSL connection is protected by "encryption", a mechanism that prevents eavesdropping and tampering with any transmitted data. SSL provides businesses and consumers with the confidence that private data sent to a website, such as credit card numbers, are kept confidential.

By using a PrestoSell order form, you can be assured that your customer information is kept safe. Your customers will see your order form automatically switch to a secure SSL connection after they select offerings from the initial screen and click "Continue". Your customers' browsers will display the secure connection "lock" and depending on the settings in their browsers they may see a message box that states "You are entering a secure connection."

Likewise, when you log into the PrestoSell system to retrieve order information, your browser will establish a secure connection with our server. You must login to our system using your username and password, defined and controlled only by you. All customer and order information that you view in PrestoSell will be completely secure from interception or unauthorized access.

Finally, we incorporate the latest technologies in IDS (Intrusion Detection System) to monitor and protect our networks against malicious attacks and viruses. In addition, our shared hosting servers are protected behind internal firewalls and monitoring software.  Back to top.

Is my customers' order information kept private?

Absolutely.  We treat all the information that PrestoSell captures as property of our clients.  We do not use any individual identifiable information captured and stored for our clients using PrestoSell in anyway.  This is a serious issue for us - we would never want to erode our relationship with you by selling or using what we consider to be your property.  Back to top.

How does PrestoSell bill me?

If you choose to subscribe to PrestoSell on a monthly basis, your monthly fee is automatically billed to your credit/debit card each month on the anniversary of your start date, until you cancel.  You can cancel at anytime prior to your next month's bill date and you will no longer be billed.

If you choose to subscribe to PrestoSell on a yearly basis, you are billed for an entire year up-front (at a discount).  In a year's time, you'll be contacted with an option to continue PrestoSell on a monthly or yearly basis.  Back to top.
